Professor Erian is a Senior Consultant Gynaecologist and Minimal Access Surgeon based at the Princess Royal University Hospital, Kent.
Professor Erian is an established consultant with 24 years' experience in the field with specialised interest in minimal access surgery, infertility and assisted conception, colposcopy and treatment of urinary incontinence. He was involved with the introduction of alternative surgical techniques to hysterectomy, key-hole hysterectomy and a wide range of minimal access procedures in gynaecology.
He has championed the concept of day surgery and performs many major gynaecological procedures as day cases. These include hysterectomy, endometriosis, ovarian cysts, fibroids and surgery for urinary incontinence.
Professor Erian has an active teaching programme in the field of minimal access surgery. He lectures regularly nationally and internationally and has published in peer reviewed medical journals. He has been awarded an Award of Merit by the King’s Fund in 2004 and has been honoured by universities abroad.
