Biography
Stefanos Chandakas was born in Athens in 1972. He received a medical degree in medicine of the University of Athens, later on a Ph.D. distinction with a degree "excellent".
He is an obstetrician, a gynecologist, with training in England and America, and specialized in laparoscopic surgery , robotic surgery and infertility. He was also studied to London at the Imperial College of Medical Business Administration and was named MBA in 2002.
He was one of the youngest gynecologist in England's National Health System in 2001 (NHS). He was an athlete of the Olympic Sailing team in 1996 and a member of the national Sailing team of Greece for 10 years. In recent years, has developed an intense charity action the NGO "Omada Aigaiou", from 2007 to today, providing free health services to isolated islands in Greece.
He is a member of scientific Council and as well as a board of directors of Mitera Hospital and a member of the Medical Scientific Comittee Of the Startup OramaVR , which is focusing in changing current medical education through virtual reality surgical tutorials.
In 2015, he founded “HOPEgenesis “,a non-profit organization in the field of medicine that addresses the issue of low birth rates in Greece. Its mission is to provide comprehensive medical care and treatment for women who become pregnant until the day they give birth.
